Upgrading from Express v2.0 to v2.1 - WebsydianExpress for Windows with Systemi back-end

Obtain WebsydianExpress v2.0 PTF package

1. Download the latest cumulative fix package from our download application at http://www.websydianexpress.com

Update runtime objects on the PC

The following information updates the runtime objects of your WebsydianExpress installation.

1. Start by stopping your WebsydianExpress
2. Unpack the obtained ZIP file to the root directory of your WebsydianExpress installation
   e.g. c:\program files\Websydian\Express v2.0 for Windows_SystemI

Restore PTF package to PTF library on your System i

If you would like to transfer and restore the PTF package to another PTF library do the following:

1. Log onto your System i, and create a save file to store the PTF package. To do this, type:
    
   CRTSAVF QGPL/WXPW20PTF [Enter]

    

2. Transfer the PTF save file to your System i. To do this:
   • Open an command prompt (DOS prompt)
      
   • Type: cd \root\directory\of\your\websydianexpress\iSeries\WXPW20PTF.savf
   • Type: ftp your-as-400-name-here
      
   • Type: (enter your username & password when asked)
      
   • Type: Binary
   • Type: put wxp20ptf.savf QGPL/WXPW20PTF
   • Type: quit
      
3. Back on your System i, type:
    
   RSTOBJ OBJ(*ALL) SAVLIB(WXPW20PTF) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/WXPW20PTF) RSTLIB(your_ptf_library) [Enter]

Run PTF installation program

The PTF installation program performs the following tasks.

• Restores new physical files to the WebsydianExpress database library
• Compiles new logical files to the WebsydianExpress database library
• Makes sure that the supplied message file S2SYMSGF is localized to support CCSID of the machine where installed

Perform the following to run the PTF installation program.

1. Run PTF installation program by issuing the following commands
    
   ADDLIBLE WXPW20PTF [Enter]

    

   WXPPTF [F4]

Update Websydian Web Server Component

Run the pack.exe located in the subdirectory "Web Server Component" of your WebsydianExpress to update the WAR file used by the Servlet Engine.

The packaging tool (pack.exe) will prompt you for automatic deployment on the local Tomcat engine if available and configuration uses this Tomcat instance. If this is not the case you have to deploy the WAR file manually.

Note for Plex developers

Make sure that you download the latest installation package of Websydian v6.0 to obtain v2.1 of the WSYAPI library model.
